NEW DIAL-A-RIDE GUIDE AVAILABLE JUNE 1, 2018

5/19/2018

Effective June 1, 2018, a new Turlock Transit Dial-a-Ride (DAR) Guide will be available to passengers that will help describe how to best use the service. This Guide reflects revised policies, which are summarized below.  To guarantee availability, call (209) 668-5600 during reservation hours at least one day before your trip.  Same-day requests may be honored based on availability at that time.

Printed copies will be available on June 1st in DAR buses, while an electronic version can be viewed online (see link).  The DAR service area map has been revised and simplified into three zones (see map).

Here are some of the changes/clarifications reflected in the new DAR Guide:
  • The overall DAR service area has increased;
  • Service areas have been simplified into three (3) zones;
  • Zone boundaries have been adjusted and follow streets, making it easier for dispatchers and passengers to verify eligibility for riding;
  • Reservations can be made up to 14 days in advance;
  • Service hours to Denair were adjusted (increased);
  • The rule for carry-on bags/items was clarified to match the language used in the fixed route Rider Guide;
  • DAR is primarily a next-day (or beyond) reservation-based service. Same-day reservations may be honored, but only based on availability. To guarantee availability, passengers are encouraged to make their reservation at least one day before their trip.
