Effective July 1, 2017, Dial-a-Ride reservations can be made by calling Turlock Transit at (209) 668-5600 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Reservation requests made outside of these hours will be reviewed the next business day. There will be no changes to the operating hours, which will continue to run 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The main difference is that the request for the trip must be made during the specified reservation hours. Same day reservations will continue to be allowed, as capacity and scheduling allows. The purpose of this change is to continue to provide quality service, while better controlling costs. Prior to this change it was common for Dial-a-Ride drivers to wait in standby mode during off-peak (low ridership) hours, such as after 5:00 p.m., for reservations that may never be made. Under the new reservation hours, all reservations for the day will be known by 5:00 p.m. If there are no requests for service, then the driver can go home. This allows for more efficient service delivery and better manages costs.
Notice of this upcoming change will be posted on the Turlock Transit website, social media and all of the transit fleet buses within the weeks leading up to the change. For more information please call (209) 668-5600 or email [email protected]. Comments are closed.
