On 9/26/17 the Turlock City Council awarded a multi-year transit operations and management contract to Storer Transit Systems (Storer) of Modesto, CA. This award was consistent with recommendations from Turlock Transit staff and the evaluation committee that identified Storer as the highest ranked proposer. Donald Storer, President and CEO of Storer (image left) shared with the Council the core values of his organization and committed to elevating transit service in Turlock.
Over the subsequent months Storer staff will work with Turlock Transit staff on the transition from the current contractor, First Transit, to the new contractor. The General Manager, Kimberlie Orosco, will continue in her role and will be joined by a new, full-time Operations Manager, Maritza Tinoco. All other staff, including dispatchers and bus drivers, will be invited to apply for similar positions with the new company and will continue in the same capacity, pending pre-employment test. Storer will begin full operations in Turlock on Sat., 11/25/17.
