Turlock City Council Members Announce Four Community Meetings in November 2019

11/5/2019

The Turlock City Council has announced four community meetings throughout November to “bring city hall to the residents of Turlock.”  For more information, keep reading.
“We realize that not everyone can attend council meetings”, said Mayor Amy Bublak, “and while we do stream our meetings live on our website which upload to our YouTube page, it does not allow for a conversation live with the council. Turlock is facing many challenges right now, and we feel it is critical to offer people the opportunity to attend meetings in the community with each councilmember in their districts.”

Michael Cooke, newly appointed as long-term interim city manager, said “I felt one of the first and most important things I could do in my position is reach out to our community at their convenience.  I will join each councilmember in their districts to offer residents an overview of the current budget challenges in the city, as well as an opportunity to tell us what they want for the future of Turlock.”

In cooperation with three elementary schools and one junior high school, meetings open to Turlock residents will occur November 14, 18, 19 and 21, all from 6pm – 7:30pm.

Residents will have an opportunity to attend one more of these workshops throughout November, as well as ask questions of their council representative.

“The feedback we receive from these meetings will be included in a working document as we move this city forward to 2020”, said Councilmember Becky Arellano. “We face significant challenges but this city is strong – all of us together can create solutions to move us forward to a thriving, sustainable city with an improved quality of life for all.”

The City of Turlock invites all residents to attend a Community Workshop, including a presentation on the current city budget. You will have an opportunity to hear from councilmembers and staff, ask questions, and be a part of the visioning for the future of our city.

Workshops are scheduled to take place in each city council district on the following dates:
  • November 14, 2019 (6:00-7:30 p.m.), Sandra T. Medeiros Elementary School, 651 W. Springer Dr., Turlock, CA 95382.
  • November 18, 2019 (6:00-7:30 p.m.), Wakefield Elementary School, 400 South Ave., Turlock, CA 95380.
  • November 19, 2019 (6:00-7:30 p.m.), Julien Elementary School, 1924 E. Canal Dr., Turlock, CA 95380.
  • November 21, 2019 (6:00-7:30 p.m.), Turlock Junior High School, 3951 N. Walnut Rd., Turlock, CA 95382
