TURLOCK REGIONAL TRANSIT CENTER, PHASE 2, APPROVED FOR CONSTRUCTION

On Tuesday, 5/23/17, the Turlock City Council approved an agreement with Diede Construction in the amount of $5,190,000 for the construction of the 2nd phase of the Turlock Regional Transit Center (TRTC). This second phase includes a building, 77-vehicle parking lot, shade structures, passenger loading/unloading area improvements and various lighting and landscaping enhancements.  The building portion will contain a public lobby, ticket window, dispatch operations, public restrooms and an undefined space for future expansion.  The project will include environmentally friendly elements such as solar charging equipment atop passenger canopies and electric vehicle charging stations.  The resulting project will serve both local and regional customers.  Construction is expected to start within the next few months and last for approximately 12 months.  Funding for the project is derived from Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5307 and 5339 funds, Proposition 1B grant funds, and Local Transportation Funds.
